Happy New Year! At midnight I joined the countdown party at Hekinan city hall. That celebrated the 60th anniversary of Hekinan city where I live. After that event I went to the nearest shrine to pray for our good fortune and health.

Strangely I saw the cherry blossoms even in autumn.
It is called "four seasons cherry trees," which we can enjoy the blossoms both in spring and autumn.

New York : I visited the Statue of Liberty and Groundzero. I enjoyed four musical shows on Broadway. On my way back I dropped by Detroit. You can see Henry Ford's car and Edison's electric bulb.

In Aichi, there are a lot of wonderful places to see the beautiful flowers. Above is lotus flowers and below is sunflowers. Summer is just around the corner.

I went to Shizuoka to see lilies. There were so many different colors of lilies. I was astonished.

Maybe the rainy season is about to start in Japan. Japanese hydrangeas look beautiful in the rain. I went to the Japanee hydrangea park in Katahara, Aichi. Many people came and enjoyed looking at the hydrangeas.

I saw beautiful Japanese irises at the park near my house. In another park I found a huge stone lantern. Stone lanters are usually as tall as I, but this one was almost twice as tall as I.

On a beautiful sunny day, I visited a park to enjoy spring flowers. Roses, marguerites, and poppies are in full bloom now.


May 5th, 2007
I went to USJ; Universal Studios Japan. I took Nozomi Super Express from Nagoya to Osaka. Most of the facilities in USJ are the same as those of US in California. However USJ has Snoopy, Woodpecker, Sesame Street, and Hello Kitty. At the hotel I stayed I found a Japanese suit of armor, which we display on May 5 in Japan.



May 4th, 2007
From April 28 to May 6 is called "Golden Week." It is a long holiday for Japanese students and workers. I enjoyed beautiful flowers, Japanese iris, in spring and traditional festival in Japan.

Japanese comic books, which are called "Manga," are very famous. You can learn Japanees culture through these books. Why don't you read some books?
