This is a pamphlet I wrote in 1991, revised and enhanced. It was a study of then published software named "PageMaker". I found .txt formatted files for "History", "01Central Area" and "02Sanaruko" in my HD. Other files were saved in .pmd and there is no way to open them. I shall replace them with newer findings. I will try to write them after Ando Hiroshige's "53 stations along Tokaido". People in older ages have no way than walk on their foot and this brings you of so many things than go on cars or shinkansen. If you walk on your feet, there are so many findings about what has changed from Hiroshige days and what don't change. I feel happy if you copy and use it freely as a part or whole. I owe no responsibity from it's quotation. 7.1 2021 KOYAMA Keiichiro 〒430-0946 109-12 Motoshiro-cho Hamamatusi JAPAN 古山恵一郎 〒430-0946 浜松市元城町109-12 tel: 070-3140-1432 fax: 053-488-8433 e-mail: ask@tcp-ip.or.jp History 1 Central Area __contd. 2 walk to Sanaruko 3 Imagire 4 Arai 5 Hashimoto 6 Washidu 7 Shiomizaka 8 Futagawa e1 Kakegawa e2 Kotonomama e3 Sagara |
2 walk to Sanaruko 3.Imagire ![]() This is the "The true scape of Imagire" by Hiroshige. There are no such steep hills around today's Maisaka. Waterway just north of Shinkansen was used by the "Imagire" ferry in Togugawa Era. No hills aroud it. ![]() A large number of people in Hamamatsu know "Ubumi Yamazaki" as the destination of public bus service. My assumption of the hills in Hiroshige's "The true scape of Imagire" are the hills north of "Yamazaki". Direction of Mt. Fuji support it. ![]() ![]() On top of the hill sits "Mishima Jinja" dedicated to the God of the Sea and God of Izumo also. This is the guardian for the Yamazaki community. The location of the shrine looking the Pacific. In older days, it is more clear to see the Ocean ![]() There were Tsumnami in Hamanako in 1494, washed away the horse station of Maisaka. Older Tsunami traces are seen here and there around the lagoon. Throughout Yedo period, Maisaka and Arai were designated as the official stations by Tokugawa Bakuhu. The samurais from western countries have to stay a night in Maisaka or Arai though, townsmen and merchants may cross Hamanako from Ubumi to Hinooka in Kosai. Down to the shore of Hamanako is the place of training by Huruhashi Hironosin, famed swimmer. ![]() Wood in the center is Mishima Jinja of Yamazaki. Iki jinja Guardian Jinja for Ubumi community is Iki Jinja, dedicated to the God of Iki. Iki means "Breathe" and breathe of god is the only power resource in the pre-modern age. ![]() Landlord of Ubumi and other communities before Ijeyasu comas to Hamamatsu is Nakamura Clan. The house is a designated building and you can see the interior in weekends. ![]() 3 Imagire 4 Arai 5 Hashimoto 6 Washidu 7 Shiomizaka 8 Futagawa |
