Questions on Grammar

Question One: What is the difference between 'a' and 'the'?
Answer: 'The' is used for specific situations or when there is only one. For example: the door, the boy.
'A' is used when not being specific and when there are more than one. For example: a window, a book.
Question Two: Why do you say 'I like juice.' but 'I like apples'?

Answer: Words that don't take plural, or are already plural in meaning can be used as they are. However, words that take plural should be in the plural , otherwise you are saying you like one particular apple rather than apples in general.
